Hi mom!
This week was an amazingly awesome week. We met with a member who loves to use different adjectives for every greeting so Im going to give it a try (as long as I can remember what it was the week prior.)
Anywho! This week was Thanksgiving week! We didn’t have p-day on Monday – it was moved to Thanksgiving day. So, on Thanksgiving we met up with the other Elders in our district and just hung out at our apartment. We received not one, not two, but three full thanksgiving meals from members and my mom who had a local restaurant send it over. So breakfasts have been pretty great since then.
By way of missionary work, my companion and I finally got in contact with an investigator the week prior. And had a return appointment set for this last Saturday. It was exciting! Every day we would practice teaching our lesson and then Thursday night before our lesson they had to cancel! Which was kind of a bummer. We had just practiced this lesson all week and we weren’t going to use it! However, we still had a nonmember lesson scheduled. Feeling impressed, we asked if we could practice our lesson and it turned out it was exactly what this person needed. We hadn’t wasted our time at all. Not only had we taught the lesson but I had learned so much that when we finally get around to teaching the original investigator we will be ready.
I received a package from my family this week that had some snacks and a foldable felt tree in it. Which I put up right away. But there was also some gifts for christmas with the worst message attached to it. “DON’T OPEN UNTIL CHRISTMAS” lets just say patience is the one thing Im definately going to struggle with this month? (thanks mom)
I found a few animals this week, I found a lizard on our way to street contacting, a hawk on p-day. And a strange looking deer sitting in the middle of a busy area. Check out the photos! Oh… and my dad took a screen shot of us video chatting with my broheim, Owen. We are goobers.
I want to share one thing I’m grateful for before I wrap things up for today. And that is warm blankets! I pulled one out of the dryer this week and it was heavenly to cuddle up with!
I want to end with a challenge for all of you. Christmas is upon us that means we have the “Light the World” campaign! The first of December’s ‘action’ is in my photos and if you don’t want to do this particular one, don’t let it stop you! Find a way to spread light this year!
Till next time,
Elder Service
