Hi Mom!
You know it is really nice taking photos throughout the week. Because I totally forgot that we made a fort out of our bed frames and box springs. Now this was for missionary work I promise. Here in Fort Mill South Carolina we call ourselves The Fort Mill, Mill of Forts. Its the nickname we gave our district. As a way to boost morale we make quick videos called Fort talks. Where as a district we share a miracle moment that had happened. So these photos of us in the fort are after we had filmed this video. And the reason the signs say “District Lord” and “Scum” is because of an inside joke. I am in the same apartment as the district leader. So my companion and I calls him the District Lord, and so he jokingly calls us the district scum.
Anywho! Aside from bed forts, this week was packed! The 3rd of December was transfers. My companion and I are staying together in Fort Mill along with the district leader. However Elder Moore was transferred to York South Carolina to be in a trio with the Zone Leaders. So we got a greenie! Elder Dixon is from Utah, and the Charlotte mission was his original call. I am still very much enjoying my mission. This first transfer has been awesome.
Between the fun D&D sessions on p-day to the more spirit filled lessons we have with investigators, I have thoroughly loved every minute. Yes there have been ups and downs and more than one morning prayer that lasted thirty minutes (though the extra nap time was great ?) I have been able to feel the spirit in a way that I have never experienced it before. Every day I see how much Heavenly Father loves me. Everyday I am so grateful for Christ’s atonement and the blessings that come from it. Every day I have grown a love for my personal studies. Honestly I pray that my mission will keep me on my toes so I can continue to grow.
⚠️Service Announcement!⚠️
Ok so this week we had three service opportunities. The first one was simple yard work for a neighbor of a member in our ward who recently had her husband pass away. (picture of us in front of the garage) The second was participating in the Bishop store house. This was my first time and it was a blast! The third isn’t apart of my pictures because I forgot to take some. It was just more leaf raking.
This week I broke my Bike! It was dark and I completely took a pot hole head on. So the tire just popped! We where like 15 minutes away from our apartment amd the trip then took 30 because I had to walk. Moral of the story, PAY ATTENTION TO WERE YOU ARE DRIVING especially in the dark. Which I’m sure there is a spiritual message in there somewhere ?.
Till next time…
Elder Service
Didn’t sister Ambrose serve in the Charlotte area. She was in that ward when we lived there and live across the street from where your family lives.
