Hi Mom!
Elder Shaw and I won the Title of Liberty this week! (Yes, I made the decision but we were the honest winners!)
Anyway onto another week as a full time missionary! So this week actually started off pretty amazingly! We had the office Elders in our mission send us a referral. And oh boy is he awesome! In our first meeting we spent the majority of the lesson talking about airplanes. If you don’t know already, my career goal is to be a pilot. And this guy is the number 1 pilot for American Airlines! (for a specific airplane but I can’t remember it). He is so cool, he had read about half the book of mormon within in the first week of us meeting with him!!! Anyway this waranted an invitation to a fireside our zone was hosting this saturday and he was totally down to come! So we get there and we call him a few minutes before it starts, and he doesn’t answer. About 35 minutes roll by and he doesn’t show up. We were so bummed and a little uncomfortable being the only missionaries at this fireside without someone who we had invited. But then, we get a text towards the end of the fireside that said he had been in a car crash! His car was totaled but he was totally fine! This just showed us the length that satan will go to prevent people from hearing the truth! Luckily God is on our side.
Other than that I got a really sweet haircut from a lady that we have been doing service for. We offered to do some bible studies but her and her husband weren’t interested. But hey, free haircuts beat a 20 dollar one!
Lastly it rained a ton over here! In fact, it rained so much flooded a near by river! The picture with me wearing a coat was the first day of rain. The one with me on a log as the next day!
All in all this week was pretty legendary.
Till next time,
Elder Service
P.S.
This week was a great week for me when it came to blessings! Haha I can’t believe I almost forgot to add this! So to start at the beginning of the week I kept getting a prompting that I needed to get an oil vial. So thursday morning I lowkey apostately text my family to send me a vial through amazon. Then my first blessing happened later that day! A member in our ward was admitted to the hospital. So Elder Shaw and I headed on over! This was my first ever blessing for the sick and of course I messed up the anointing but I got it right eventually! Then tonight, like less than 5 minutes ago, Elder Shaw was experiencing the start to a migraine that had already affected him pretty badly earlier this week. So he asked me to give him a blessing! This was some good practice and man was the spirit so strong!
