Hi Mom!
So we locked ourselves out of the Church building so I am writing this while we wait to be rescued!
This week was Easter, Conference, and transfer news! A lot has happened this week. Lets start with the transfer news. Elder Shaw and I will be staying here in Statesville! We were so stoked, we hope to really grind for these next few weeks!
For conferance we invited quite a few number of people and made some phone calls and not a single person showed up! Granted it was Easter and people do have lives. But it is was a little depressing to be the only ones in the chapel building haha. We ended up stealing a couch and putting it in the chapel so we could comfortably watch the 10 hours of conference. In all honesty though this was an awesome experiance. Right now as a missionary anything and everything spiritual is elevated ten fold. I’m still a distractable teenager but when it comes to spiritual matters you can bet I’m paying attention! Also, my favorite talk was from Elder Oaks and my favorite moment was when Querétaro was announced as getting a temple!!!!! I hope I’ll still get to go and be able to experience at least the ground breaking! 😁
Anyway, last thing I’d like to talk about is Easter. This week Elder Shaw and I made a facebook video with our ward about their favorite part about Easter. And it got me thinking about my favorite part. Yes finding eggs is fun. But when I really dig into it Jesus Christ really is the the whole reason why I love Easter. Because of him I get to spend time with family. Because of him I get to spend eternity with my family. My favorite part about Easter is my family. This all came to me when I Elder Shaw and I were invited to have Easter dinner with a family in our ward. While we were there it made me realize that not every family is perfect. But there is always a special spirit about coming together and enjoying each others company. I am so grateful for this family that shared their love to me when I couldn’t be with my family this holiday season.
Anyway to explain the two photos the one with the polar bear is during an all day exchange with Boone and the selfie is me waiting to get back into the church after locking ourselves out haha. Anywho, thank you all for being apart of my mission journey. It may not be as exciting as some missions but it has meant the world to me. Love you all!
Till next time,
Elder Service
