Hi Mom!
I really hope that after compiling a record of my mission experiance that I, and those reading, will be able to learn something. The reason I say this is because this past week was probably the toughest one so far. Elder Shaw and have several people we are teaching and after challenging them all last week to reinvigorate their efforts to learn from us we find out this week that not much has changed…
So, lets just say I have had to do a lot of reading and pondering but most of all praying till I can’t feel my knees. I don’t know if I have come out of this depression but I do feel the love and light of Christ at the end of the tunnel. Here is where I am, I know the Savior lives. I know he looks after us! And I love the Book of Mormon and know that the only way I can feel the peace I feel is that the Spirit is testifying it to me as I read. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
Now on to the brighter side of this week! Elder Shaw and I were vaccinated on saturday! We got the Johnson and Johnson one shot vaccine. The only side effects where on sunday we were feeling very achy and just all around terrible. I was really proud of the work we did despite how we were feeling. We got to watch Stake Conferance which was a nice time to rest.
We also had an amazing time taking advantage of the loosening of the Covid rules and eating with members! So we got to have BBQ with a member for lunch and then helped him with some chores. And yes, I’m not going to lie, it was slightly against mission rules for Elder Shaw to climb up on the roof like that. But it turned out OK and he is still with us haha.
Last thing I want to write is what I’ve had for breakfast every other day haha! Sometimes I have it with a sweet fruit smoothie but not always… Don’t worry though! I have bought better stuff for breakfasts today when we went shopping so maybe I take a picture of my new legendary breakfast.
