Hi Mom!
I just want to say thank you Mom and Dad for teaching me patience especially with other people. It has been very nice to be able to move on from the rejection and harshness of others. And just push forward in love and patience.
Anyway this week was Bingo Week! Surprisingly, despite our best efforts, we did not win at Bingo 😭! The Morganton beat us by one square! Haha but they deserve it. They went street contacting this week and got 4 phone numbers!!! Pretty cool stuff, now they get to keep the Title of Liberty and have to make another “casting out fear” video!
Elder Shaw and I have been spending a lot of time with our ward mission leader and it has been a awesome. I have learned so much from him and his wife it is astounding. Like Mom, don’t stress at all about how hard missionary work is out here. Brother and Sister Lewis treat us so well that NOTHING can bring us down.
Anyway, the pictures if me holding a stick is our own “Casting out Fear” video. Elder Shaw and I casted out fear this week by reaching out to a couple of people who we felt needed some treats. And we went to give away treats to a home that we knew the husband didn’t want anything to do with the gospel. So we go expecting for the wife to open the door. Nope! It was the husband, anyway we pushed through the awkward fear and gave him the cookies. He was actually really nice and invited us in (it was raining). Overall it was a great visit.
Something else really cool happened this week! We met Dwayne Cloar who has an awesome conversion story. One that I had listened to down in Fort Mill and never believed I ever meet him! Turns out he was baptized in Statesville, and this was his home ward! He moved to Utah a while back and was visiting the area. He was living with a member in our ward and he invited us over when we were on our way to LLC. Then we went out for breakfast this morning before he left for his flight and oh boy! Mom you would love him haha!
Anyways that pretty much sums up this week. It is still difficult for me to find those that God has prepared down here in the Bible Belt but I know that he has been strengthening my testimony every day. And right now I would just like to bear my testimony about prayer. I know that God listens to our prayers. I have recently just felt peaceful when I say my nightly prayers. Almost like how when you are talking to someone you know you can trust. Anyway, pray always and always pray.
Till next time,
Elder Service
