Hi Mom!
My last post was several days late… so I’m writing this one early in the morning! Also, I’m currently washing my garments so I’m trying to find things to do while I wait.
Anyways! Hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July! 🇺🇸HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA🇺🇸! My zone hosted a zoom call where we watched a video of fireworks. It was honestly a bit depressing compared to the real thing. But hey 🤷♂️ gotta do what you gotta do.
This was another great busy week in the land of Matthew’s, North Carolina. We a bunch of lessons drop. (Check out our screen shot hahaha) Which was sad but we were able to have lessons with our most progressing friends. Which is a good sign. We are actually thinking about putting them on baptismal date this next week so stay tuned for that!
We also had a mini “welcome” zone conferance to say hi to our new mission president. President Brown is from Cheyenne, Montana. And he brought 4 kids with him. You can see him and his wife standing next President Adler and his wife in the pictures.
One of my good missionary friends (Elder Dixon) was transferred near our old area and got to take a photo in our original apartment. My drawing is still up, signed and everything.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how long I have been on my mission. As well as all the experience I’ve been able to absorb. All the friends I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. But the most surprising thing I have noticed is how much this gospel is woven into the fabric of life. Things like the word of wisdom and living the law of chastity are all things that are becoming more and more of an oddity but not too long ago they were important assets to life. I feel so blessed to have been exposed to life through the church. I grew up with values and positive outlook on life. Which at its core is the whole reason why I’m out here. To serve others and share with them this optimistic view on life. It just really stinks that they choose to not accept it. Which is fine, and it’s actually something for us to celebrate because they are using their God given gift of agency. I’m looking forward to another year and I’ll probably post something more exciting when I actually hit 1 year. For now…
Till next time,
Elder Service
