Hi Mom!
So this week was a blast! We celebrated my first Mexican Christmas party. It was a stake activity so like literally 300 people showed up. We had to spin the pews around to fit everyone in. Gotta love missionary manual labor jaja.
The Christmas party was this Saturday. It was celebrating the day Mary and Joseph came to bethlehem looking for a place to chill. We watched the christ child video, ate some pretty baller tamales. Then had Santa show up and handed out stockings to all the kids (and missionaries 😋)
We almost didn’t go because we live an hour away. But we have an awesome Elders Quorum president who came in clutch in his big ol camioneta. Aka Dodge SUV.
Aside from the fiesta we have done a lot of walking around and teaching. We currently have a family of 3 on date for this saturday and a dad of another family who will most likely be baptised in January. So that’s exciting.
We still haven’t recovered the bike. We almost got it on Friday but the guy that was going to help us pick it up never showed up. So fingers crossed for this tuesday 🤞. So instead we hooked up some peggs to the back of my bike and we have been piggybacking haha. Unfortunately some of us are pretty fat from all the street tacos so now my back wheel is all bent and we no longer can ride it haha.
The lack of bikes has made traversing our area a little more interesting. We have resorted back to the camionetas or busses. So we got to a member’s hows fine. But on the way back we got on the wrong bus. It started taking us in the wrong direction! So we hopped off and started walking. This was on sunday so I was still in my nice suit pants and Thursday boots. We made it to our dinner appointment alive though so no worries there. Jaja.
The Querétaro Temple has finally been revealed and where they are gonna put it! I’m so excited!!!
Anyways I’m loving the work and the work is loving me back. So thats pretty nice. Also, Dad, I left a few out of context photos in here just for you 😊 te amo!
Till next time,
Elder Service
PS. These are apparently the best brand of shoes to buy here in mexico. Best price too! I only paid about 850 pesos for pure leather shoes from Leon Mexico. That comes out to about 25 dollars. So ya, I’m pretty content. Will most likely buy another pair….
