Hi Mom!
This week started off really strong. Then it took a nosedive.
Tuesday was awesome! We had a member dinner and the Husband lived in Charlotte for 10 years! We got talking and he totally knows a lot of the spanish members that I know! It was awesome. Then directly after the member lesson they showed us to a less active family so we go and visit and meet the coolest 14 year old. While we were seated on their couch he showed us his powerful musical skills by having us view his cover for “I’m Still Here” from the movie “Treasure Planet” then he amazed us with his amazing gospel knowledge. He basically told us everything he learned from the last year in seminary. It was a lot! After that sweet family we got home taught a few lessons and then went to bed.
Then Wednesday hit… it started off fine. We had cool breakfast planned with a member who owns a restaurant. He wasn’t there so we were a bit confused but proceeded with the day. We teach our super sweet friend Jessica (she is so awesome.) Then on the walk to another lesson we notice we had a bunch of missed calls from our ward mission leader. Turned out that that super cool family visit we had on tuesday, they were in direct contact with someone who tested positive for covid… we then proceeded to Quarantine ourselves as I started to cough…
Thursday morning, I woke up stared at the celling and thought “I feel as though I was hit by a truck.” On top of the achy pains I had a major headache, huge cough, and a runny nose. I was sick. I spent the rest of thursday staring at my ceiling as my companion made phone calls. The next day I was deflated realizing I was still sick. Couldn’t move much without getting dizzy so I just stayed in bed staring at the ceiling. Saturday rolls around and I realized I didn’t ache too much so I got up and my hopes dropped, just about as hard as I almost dropped. I still had a raging headache. It was one of those headaches where there isn’t much you can do other than sit in a dark quiet room and take a nap. So that’s what I did Saturday… Just so you all know we don’t really know if I had Covid I’m getting my test today. But we had a zone call with President Saturday morning and he asked who was sick so I said I was and he just could tell and he said (in spanish) “You most definitely have Covid.” So cool.
Anyways Sunday was Stake Conference and I was feeling better so I sat through that and managed to sit in and help teach a few lessons my super diligent and highly effective companion, Elder Reading. He managed to set up a bunch of lessons over the phone while I was dead on my bed. So the week ended pretty nicely but oh boy was it a boring week. Luckily for you guys I actually managed to take a few photos, enjoy! 😁
Till next time,
Elder Service
