Hi mom!
Thanks you for all the Christmas gifts! (and yes dad I am using my new nifty tripod and bluetooth keyboard right now and also the mask is hilarious and I love it ?)
This last week was jam packed with preparations for Christmas. Unfortunately the holidays made it harder for us to land times for lessons. However that didn’t stop us from delivering a bunch of cookies on Christmas Eve! We made over 250 cookies for our members and investigators. The only downside is we totally burned through our allotted miles on our car. But hey! Cookies bring miracles so it was worth it!
⚠️?Miracle Moment?⚠️
Cookies bring MIRACLES!!! So while we were delivering cookies our last delivery was to a lady we have been trying to teach since we got into our area. But due to her schedule it has been really hard to get into contact with her and set up an appointment. What made it hard was the limited contact we did have with her she seemed super interested and even had some really golden questions that the restored gospel could really help her answer. Anywho, we show up and she is there! She was so glad to see us (especially with a delicious plate of cookies) that she invited us in for a few minutes. We got talking and we were able to clear up a question that was bothering her about polygamy. As well as set up a legit appointment ?. We are so excited, and we now know that when you are in need of miracles bake cookies!
Now on to Christmas, unfortunately because of covid we weren’t able to eat or celebrate Christmas with members. We were, however, allowed to pick up food and celebrate with our district. So, we had a game night! It was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed the opportunity I had to talk with my family and open my gifts with them. Families are truly a blessing that Heavenly Father has blessed us all with. I love my family! I even got to say Hi to my older brother Avery and his awesome wife Abigail! Which I counted as an extra blessing. (love you guys)
To end my post for today I just wanted to say how grateful I was, and currently am, for the opportunity I had to experience my first Christmas on my mission. As a missionary, my life has naturally become saturated with the gospel of Jesus Christ. So in a way I think this Christmas has been the most spiritual for me. In that I have been able to truly develop a closer relationship with Him. My scripture studies have become more spirit filled. I have learned how to make more fervent prayers (though my morning prayers could use a little work) but most importantly I have been learning how to love others the way He loves us. And that has been my most cherished gift from him. I still have a lot to learn. But that is the beauty of it right? We are all learning as we go. I leave that with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Till next time,
Elder Service
