Hi Mom!
So, this week was pretty cool, so lets dive right into it!
On Tuesday we did a lot of contacting, with little success (calling people is really kinda a buzz kill ?)
On Wednesday we had district council where we talked about a revolutionary way to talk to people on Facebook. So, we are thinking that if we find anyone on facebook, as missionaries we send them a 20 second video introducing ourselves and asking if we can send them a two minute video with us sharing a gospel principle (based on a high level of Facebook stalking before hand ??) Then if they accept we gone dun just taught a person in 2 minutes and 20 seconds!!! (Give or take depending on response time) But it was so revolutionary that Satan thought it was a good idea to break FB Messenger! So like we send in our 20 second videos to a bunch of people and all they get is 7 seconds of no audio and all they see are a couple of well dressed kids waving their hands around and smiling ??♂️. Anywho messenger is working now so hopefully we can send some more this week and find more people to teach.
⚠️SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT⚠️
So this week was pretty full of service. I’ll start with what happened on Thursday. The other Elders had been teaching a lady who had kinda stopped talking to them. But then out of nowhere in the middle of lunch time she calls them asking for help moving! So we did that for about an hour.
⚠️SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT PT 2⚠️
We once again had a surprise service opportunity on Saturday. Elders from Mooresville texted us about a lady who needed service so of course we were down to help! We raked her yard and she wanted to pay us like $120 dollars for it! We of course said no but she insisted so we compromised by agreeing on $40 dollars if she would spend it on food. But that’s not the best part! Elder Shaw offered for us to teach her about Christ and she totally wanted to! So we are excited about that!
Then on Friday we were taking a look at our creaky dinner chairs, and lets just say a four Elder apartment can get a little bit exciting. Needless to say we were on the hunt for more dinner chairs (and potentially new people to teach) so we went on Facebook Marketplace and found four brand new ones! Met a really nice older lady and had and even more pleasant of a conversation! (The photo of me next to bigfoot was actually in their neighborhood so I just had to take a photo.
Which reminds me on Tuesday when we did a lot of contacting we went and met with a member that our bishop suggested we meet. They were home but didn’t want us to come in because of Covid so we said a quick prayer in there front yard and were on our way. However, since we had a bit of time on our way back Elder Shaw and I stopped to take a few photos! I have made it my goal to get as many pictures as I can in front of church signs so here it is. Also the picture of us on that tractor was Elder Shaw’s idea. He was a farmer back home and absolutely lost his mind when he saw the John Deere tractor shop ?. Not gonna lie those where some pretty cool tractors!
That’s it for this week thanks for reading!
Till next time,
Elder Service
PS… Those cool photos of the spinning sparks were taken by my broheim Owen for his photography class at Weber State University. They are cool so I wanted to post them.
