Hi Mom!
Can you believe its been 6 months already?!?! 🤯 Haha! Here’s to 18 more! 😁
Something interesting that happened today was Elder Shaw and I where out filming scenes for our facebook video/ attempting to do street contacting. And we ended up in a pawn shop. Looking at guns (for our video) and Elder Shaw sparks up a conversation with the guy behind the counter! This morning we had talked about “fearing no man” and just laying the gospel out there and letting the spirit just take control. However, we apparently still fear man because we spent an hour there and never brought up the gospel. We felt like such goobers! It would have been nice to have a successful street contact on my 6 month. But hey! You live and learn. Next time I will remember this moment and NOT PASS IT UP!
This experiance reminds me a lot about D&C 122:7 (the scripture I shared last time) It has been ringing in my head since the whole situation ended; ” all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.”
I know this life can be tough, but I also know there is an unexplainable level of comfort that comes with the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It truly is a perfect gospel meant to empower and inspire us. And I have loved being able to share that with others!
I’ve got a feeling these next 18 months won’t be easy but I know I’m going to grow because of it.
And a note to my future self… I hope you get this street contacting stuff figured out haha! – But in all seriousness it has crossed my mind that missionary work may never be the same. Missionaries may not be street contacting anymore. It may be all social media. But social skills are still vital! Love you man and keep going strong 😁
Anywho just thought I’d share something for my 6 month mark.
Love you all and I really hope you have a blessed day!
Till next time,
Elder Service
(P.S. it is a missionary tradition to burn a tie at your 6 month mark… It was nice to blow off some steam after a train wreck of a day that I had! 😂)
