Hi Mom!
“7×7=49 i met owens old math teacher” – by Qwen
So! this week was pretty fun. I went to a few parties! Made a few contacts, and went to Disneyland and rode on its a small world! We were at a ward function and my brother’s math teacher Mrs. Cloward comes and sits next to me and introduces herself. Then I find out that another lady, Sister Wilson, who used to live in my home ward when she was younger, was an extra in Hunger Games. Dont tell her I said that lol.
Another party I went to was a spanish cultural party. I tried so many different foods it was crazy. Then I had a very limited but super enjoyable conversation with a few guys from Argentina. Limited because my spanish is still minimal. Enjoyable because I actually could contribute to the convo.
This week was very enjoyable. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to have the best contact with our friends who want to be baptized so I will have to update yall on that later!
I just finished reading the book of Acts in the New Testament. Paul was a stout apostle. He reminds me a lot of Alma the younger. Both were persecuting the church, both had divine intervention that set them straight after three days of converting themselves to the gospel. After which, they became some pretty solid missionaries. The only real difference I saw was that Paul was crazy enough to let a poisonous snake hang off his arm.
Anyway, in all seriousness I loved reading Acts it has put such a nice perspective on the life of the church after Christ’s ministry. Also the very real reality that was the Great Apostasy. Everywhere Paul went he was thrown into prison or chained up.
A few other explanations for some of the pictures are my Zone leader, Elder Raymond, designed a logo for our Facebook page. The selfie of my handsome face is our “we are gonna hit our goals this week” face. And the mirror photo was taken shortly after acquiring some new ties from someone we are teaching. So ya, this week was pretty great! Oh by the way today marks 24 days before my year mark!
Till next time,
Elder Service
