Hi Mom!
I just checked and I’m only 17 days away from the year mark!
So let’s get right into it. I have loved this week so far. However there have been a few dips. To start we had to take our friends off baptismal date this week. But that’s ok because she told us she still wants to be baptized but that she wants to develop her own testimony first. Which is actually the best thing to do. So we are going to take it slow and see how that goes.
The last few days here in the Carolinas has been really friggin hot and humid. To the point were any time I step out of a climate controlled space my glasses fog up. Lol.
We felt spiritually inspired to walk around our favorite park this week and we decided to take a route that 9 times out of 9.5 times is a completely empty trail. But God knows more! Because we actually ran into a family of 5 that is from Colombia and also has friends in the
Church! So we look forward to reaching out to them this week. Also, Elder Bangerter has been looking to change his profile picture so I just had to document the attempt.
I have a testimony that Facebook does work. We just haven’t fine tuned it yet. This week I felt impressed after saying a prayer to open up our facebook finding to like and respond to one of our friend’s facebook posts. When he responded we got to talking about how he was doing and what he was doing that day. And he actually invited us to come over for dinner! We had some lessons drop and were looking for things to do and this seemed like a chance straight from heaven. So we went over and had some pretty riquísimo Hundurian food. Then we were talking to him about life and got around to talking about the afterlife. Which lead into a great lesson out of Alma 40. We think he liked it and hope he learned something and had the spirit testify to him.
We have an awesome Elder in our Zone that is really good at making videos. So he made an English class ad for us to post on our Facebook page. That thumbnail is from that video.
We had interviews this last week. President and Sister Brown are so sweet like litterally so glad they are our mission leaders! President Brown shared 3 nephi 11 with me and talked to me about how Jesus Christ spent the time to talk to an show all the people that were present. He wasn’t just being friendly he made sure everyone of the people was cared for in some form or another. I love the book of mormon and the love and comfort it brings me every time I read it. I pray that all those who we teach will be able to feel this love to. Anyway, I really appreciate yall reading my weekly updates!
Till next time,
Elder Service
