Hi Mom!
Another great week in Mexico! Here are a few highlights.
So, we have been teaching a family of 7 the gospel for a couple of weeks now. And we have set soft date for baptism for the 24th of October! They are so ready it doesn’t even feel real. We found them by contacting ancianos (formers). We found their son Angel who is 17 (I believe). And he is the spiritual powerhouse of the family. He answers all of our questions and helps his family understand too! Unfortunately they didn’t come to church this Sunday because their moped wouldn’t start. So we will have to catch them next time.
Got to tour San Pancho a bit last week too! I got a haircut and bought a new player (jersey) for like 7 bucks (150 pesos).
But I think the crowning moment of this week was moving to a new apartment. We have been looking for one for a couple weeks now. And last week we found the holy grail of third world apartments. The owners had just renovated everything. (The bathroom is divine, and grandma we were reassured that the toilets and plumbing work with toilet paper. So we have been living the high life haha).
For P-day today we went to a street taco buffet. I literally ate like 20 tacos haha.
Anyways to wrap it up (I’m bout to go play some fút) I want to say that I know the book of mormon is true. But I gained a testimony that the organization of this church is true from reading in the book of Acts. There is no way this church isn’t being lead by God. Yes people aren’t perfect. But God doesn’t call perfect people to lead his church. Just look at Paul for example. Just look at the fact that the church sends out a bunch of young adults to do a pretty serious job. In a lot of ways it is intimidating but I love this work so much!
Till next time
