Hi Mom!
Hi again! Haha this week was packed so I decide to split it up into two.
To start I want to confess that we were slightly disobedient this Tuesday. So as yall know Monday was El Día de los Muertos. The whole reason we went on that excursion to Leon was to go to a cemetery called the Pantheon and check out all the decorations. The Pantheon is this huge cemetery surrounded by a wall. Unfortunately it closes at 7pm. We showed up Monday night at 8pm. So we missed our chance. Or so we thought. Our Zone leaders were like we are all gonna meet here tomorrow at 5 so we can enjoy a one in a lifetime opportunity. I was all for it. However, Tuesday is a proselytizing day. On top of that, San Pancho is an hour drive a way. So if we were gonna do it its was gonna be a huge waste of the lords time.
Now for the ‘miracle’ I wont call it a miracle miracle. Because it ultimately was an act of disobedience. But, Tuesday morning the whole mission did a practice zoom call to prepare ourselves to log in on Wednesday for Elder Holland. Anyways long story short, Elder Holland speaks English. My companion and every other Mexican and American companionship speaks spanish. So, to remedy the translation problem. President Dominguez called for an emergency exchange so that all the Mexicans can be together to watch the meeting with a spanish translator. Which meant that we got the green light to travel to Leon that night to pick up my English companion. Not saying it was a miracle, but it was a miracle. And not saying we took an extra hour and a half to pick up my english companion at the Pantheon, but we spent an extra hour and a half at the Pantheon to pick up my English comp. Haha.
Then on Wednesday morning we got to listen to one of the most fire talks I have ever heard from Elder Holland. Here are a few of my favorite quotes;
“You all are little ‘a’ apostles”
“For pitty’s sake wake up at 6:30! Lets move on.”
“We are the generation that will give the church of the Lamb. To the Lamb. “
“What are you going to tell your grandkids about your mission?”
It was an awesome Zoom call. Cant wait for Conferance haha.
Till next time,
Elder Service
