Hi Mom!
You really got to watch out for tienda tents they really come out of nowhere Haha.
So, this week was pretty great. I’ll start with what I had to eat. I found out that it’s not esquine its spelled esquite. And it’s made with corn, mayonnaise, butter, cheese, spices, and even sometimes doritos! The doritos version was out of this world! There is just something about eating corn out of a doritos bag in Mexico that is just so good. Haha.
Next we finally had that baptism of 5. It was a tough road with a lot of patience. We got up extra early on Sunday morning to fill the font and to go pick them up. They were all baptized and confirmed before church started. But each one of them came out of the water giggling. With the biggest smile on their faces. It was truly a beautiful experience. Each one of us missionaries got to baptize a muchacho. After the baptism and confirmation. The mom was turned to my companion and I and asked when she is going to be baptized! So be on the lookout for her baptism. There is a lot of work we have to do with the parents but I have hope for them!
We finally got out bikes fixed so now we can travel a bit farther to lessons and to pick up food. So on our way back from picking up food I stopped and took a photo in front of a statue. I have no idea who it is because the plack with his info on it was super faded. It’s hard enough reading Spanish, I can’t read faded spanish Haha. Also! Mom I hope you enjoy the more ‘out and about’ photo 😂.
Elder Rojas and I spent a lot of time planning out our area. We got out the physical areabook from 2009 (that’s the oldest record) and organized every paper into colonials aka neighborhoods. It took us like 3 hours but it is finished. We signed the first page and added a scripture. The work has been done 😂.
We had interviews this week. And I found out that my family can come pick me up when I finish the mission! So that’s exciting. But also, Elder Rojas found out that he will be leaving at the end of this transfer. So this will be his last week in San Pancho. I’m gonna miss him. He’s a good Elder. Hopefully we can make this week a legendary one.
Till next time,
Elder Service
Like I tell your uncle Tyler..keep your head on a swivel, and be careful out there! Luv ya! Gramma and Grampa Service.
