Hi Mom!
So ya, I got transferred this last monday! I’m currently in San Juan del Rio. This last week felt like the busiest I have ever been. We walk basically everywhere and we are averaging about 5 lessons a day. Now let’s dive right into it.
To start we took a trip to Amealco which if I was in San Francisco del Roncón is basically the equivalent of Manuel Doblado. It’s about an hour bus ride away from our main area. We visited a member and she fed us a really good breakfast. She gave us Rosca de Reyes and Atole. Which something I forgot to say. In Mexico there is a holiday dedicated to the kings who visited Jesus. Honestly I think its a bigger holiday here in mexico than Christmas. Anyways, Rosca is a pastry and Atole is a cinnamon chocolate milk. Both were absolutely amazing. Then we gave another member a blessing and studied in the main square. We are planning another trip tomorrow so that ought to be fun!
Then like I said we spent most of the week walking from lesson to lesson. Had a few fun encounters in between. One time in particular we met Mauricio. This was one of the funnest conversations I’ve had on the mission. He obviously knew the missionaries because he started off by asking if we wanted to go buy something to drink. Then he went off asking us questions about the word of wisdom. After talking we got him to buy a pastry instead then we got his number and will be meeting with him on wednesday. My favorite quote from this whole adventure was “four ladies please” because he knows we believe in the law of chastity. He would literally say that as if he was calling somebody like every 5 minutes jaja.
My companion and I prayed this week for a specific number of baptisms we needed to get this transfer. We felt like we were going to get three. So this week we grinded to find those three. Well, we set three baptismal dates this week and at least two of them came to church! So we are excited.
Anyways my laundry is almost done so ill end this post here. Love you all and may the force be with you!
Till next time,
