This wednesday is my third week on the mission! This week was my ‘bike’ week which means my companion and I rode our bikes to lessons. Lets just say I was pretty butt hurt about this. Anywho today is the first day we have a car for ourselves and lets just say thats less painful.
My mission has been really great so far. I am really enjoing getting to know new people and learning from them. I havent had too many lessons with investigators since last week. But we have had two or three lessons a day with members. Which is the best. Especially considering they love feeding the missionaries! But ya this ward is great, in fact me and another Elder in my apartment where jokingly saying we wanted to live here permanately (sorry mom im not coming home ;p ).
We met with a former sunday morning who absolutley loves missionaries and the message we share. In fact he had been taught by missionaries forever. He litterally has books that we have never heard of that the church has produced. But ya he is great, he knows everyone in his duplux and introduced us to them all so hopefully we can get the chance to teach them soon.
Sorry for the low photo count! Not a lot of exciting things happened but this week I created a board that we use to gauge how the people we teach are doing and how to best help them progress to baptism. I put a lot of work into making it so I took a photo. Also I changed my phone’s wallpaper to the single most important part of The Book of Mormon; Jesus visiting the americas. I found it on the “gospel media” app. Which I want to suggest everyone download because it has some truely awesome stuff in it. And why wouldnt you want some truely awesome stuff right?
My spiritual thought is a video from last years Light The World that the church put out. It is called “The Christ Child”. I would love for yall to watch it. It is beautiful. Love y’all!
I almost forgot to add this to my post! So there is this recent member named Cam, he is 84 years old. He has around 20 birds in his home ranging from doves to african grey parrots. He also loves to do some wood working and let me tell you this guy is a legend at his craft! He does all kinds of wood creations (see photos) but he also these wood puzzles (not shown…yet) where the name of the animal is spelled out in the shape of the animal it represents. Super cool stuff. I’ll have to get more photos of his work. But here us a sample an Elder in my apartment bought from him.
Till next time…
How much do the cool puzzles go for?
