Hi Mom!
This last week was suppose to be transfer week. Elder Burke and I spent tuesday and wednesday saying goodbye to our members and investigators. It was when we where driving home from a member’s house at 8pm that we found out transfers where cancelled. There has been a recent spike of Covid in the mission so everything had to be haulted. It was a bit of a surprise for our members to see us that following sunday. The worst part about the whole experience was that we had gotten so hyped about it (look at the photos I mean look at us) that when we found about that transfers where canceled we got way deflated. It didn’t help that I had already packed up all of my stuff. Needless to say, I have been living out of my small suitcase since last wednesday. Don’t worry about me though, Elder Burke and I have a plan to stay busy despite knowing we are going to be leaving this next week.
I think the highlight of this week was the opportunity I had to say goodbye to a recent convert. The picture you see there was taken only minutes after he had received the priesthood. Which has been a huge goal for us to accomplish for this transfer. So I was glad I got to end my time here in Fort Mill on a good note. Also! He loves woodworking so naturally I had to buy one of his peices! That white Unicorn is his own design for a hang able puzzle! You can bet I bought that sucker to decorate my new apartment (whenever I get to go ?).
? Lamp Light ?Now that we are kinda inbetween transfering and quarantine, we have had more time to develop a presence on facebook (never thought I’d say that on a mission haha). Elder Burke and I have been working one the series of videos I had talked about in my last post. We are hoping to finish lesson three in preach my gospel. We have completed Faith, Repentance, and Baptism. Next up is the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. The only snag that I see is the other Elders in this apartment need help with their video so that might take over. Which is a ok with me because they are trying to do a stop motion with my own art work.
Which reminds me! The way missionary work has been going, the best way to help further the work is to expand a missionaries reach on facebook! So please if you are reading this go to facebook and like, comment (it can literally be “this is awesome” or “love this” I’ll even take a simple “amen”), and don’t forget to share! Sharing my posts will reach the most amount of people. If you don’t have facebook get it. Then send me a friend request! Hahaha.
But in all honesty, it will be really helpful to have more people sharing, commenting, and liking things I post. Especially if I get quarantined anytime soon. Thanks you all are the best!
⚠️Spiritual thought⚠️
So I just finished the book Saints on the gospel library. WOW! There are so many eye opening things in that book. Things that both shook my beliefs and also grew my faith. I definitely have some work to do in order to sift through it all. However, I know and will forever believe that there is a God who loves me, a Heavenly Father that wants me to make the best choices that will lead me to joy and happiness in life. I know he sent Jesus Christ to help teach me what those choices are. With that same logic I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. Even when I don’t fully understand any of it. I know that as I live by the precepts found in the scriptures I am set for life. The scripture that first comes to my mind is my seminary council and missionary scripture. John 16:33 where Jesus commands us to “Be of good cheer” despite the crazy tribulations of this world. And quite frankly, from what I have learned on my mission is that Christ’s atonement is next level awesome. I am so very grateful for the knowledge I have. And I am so very joyful that I get to use it every day. I say these things in the name of him who commands me to “be of good cheer”, even Jesus Christ, amen.
Till next time…
