Hi Mom!
So its Wednesday and I totally forgot to write a blog post on Monday!
Alrighty then! This last week was really busy. It was transfers and just about every legendary missionary left for home. Including the Mission President and his wife. President and Sister Adler were some of the coolest germans I had ever met. Glad I had the opportunity to serve the lord with them. But now the baton has been passed off. President and Sister Brown are now in charge! I’m excited to meet them too.
Anyway, some things that happened this week. Elder Bangerter and I went street contacting at a local park and the we basically find the only Spanish speakers in the whole park. The conversation started great. I introduced my self we exchanged some pleasantries. I’m pretty sure they were from Mexico it was great! Then everything took a hard left turn. Not two seconds later I’m in my first bible bash in spanish. Before I know it Elder Bangerter has made a connection to how the songs of Solomon are pornographia and I’m over here trying to hold back a laugh. Let’s just say, I stopped the conversation by bearing my testimony and offering free English classes as we took their phone numbers as a polite way to say goodbye. It was a good time hahaha.
A few of the photos I chose to put on here are of the frustrations of missionary work in the 21st century. That is, people not answering the video call when we had an appointment set up. At least we get some fun selfies out of it.
This last P-day we got to play disc golf together for the first time as a newly formed district. Then shortly after Elder Bangerter and I found this orange truck/SUV just chilling in the parking lot.
One of the bigger highlights of this week was we got a referral from the English Elders in our area. Who happen to be the assistants to the president. Anyway, they wanted to teach the guy but he only spoke spanish and luckily one of the Elders were actually a spanish Elder before he was called to be an AP. Anyway, he taught the whole lesson and we got to sit back and watch. It was really cool to see how a stud missionary teaches in spanish. What ended up happening next is we invited him to church and he said yes! So we hand picked our favorite Spanish member to pick him up on Sunday. And he came!!!! It was so awesome. We hope to keep teaching him.
Ok, it’s like 7:30am on a Wednesday and I still need to get ready so I’ll end my post here. Love you all and a thousand apologies for the late post!
Till next time,
Elder Service
